About

Business & Policy Group

Politics and business are deeply intertwined.

As business leaders, Foster MBAs need political savvy. Career success will require the knowledge to understand how politics, policy, and government impact business conditions and outcomes, from trade to taxation to education, and the skills to effectively navigate this world.

Our Mission

Foster Business & Policy Group is the non-partisan forum for Foster MBA students to engage in the critical connections between business, government, and politics. We provide opportunities to examine current events, contextualize the MBA classroom within local, national and international politics, and explore careers related to government affairs and public service.

Why business and policy?

Business occurs in the space defined by policy. Government has huge influence over which industries and businesses are viable and profitable, as well as the impact businesses can have on society while remaining profitable. Aspiring business leaders need to understand the political environment.

Why business and policy?

The intersection of business and policy has always been critical to the functioning of both. Business and policy frequently have a significant influence on the way each other functions in the present and plans for the future. To be a successful business leader, as well as a responsible and informed citizen, it is critical to understand and be able to navigate this intersection.
